Reading:
Your child should read 5x a week and their reading record should be completed by the children to reflect what reading has taken place EG. Reading for Pleasure- Harry Potter- Read chapter 4. Please start a new page in the Record book every week. These are checked daily by Mrs. V. When your child has finished their reading book, they can change it.
P.E.
For the first half term, a selection of Year 6 children will be going swimming on a Wednesday morning whilst the rest remain in school and receive PE teaching from Mrs Tunn & Mrs Hawkins. After half-term, Year 6’s P.E. lesson will take place on a Friday and your children can come to school in their school P.E. kit ready for the lesson.
Homework:
Your child will receive a CGP book (Maths and English) and homework will be set from this weekly on a Friday. Children can either complete it independently and show you or you can work alongside them, if they require a bit more support or have any questions. If they have any issues or questions with the homework, they can bring this to me to explain/ check.
Your child should use the answer pages at the back to check and make corrections.
CGP Homework books should be brought in each Friday to be looked at by an adult.
Fun Fact Friday:
Year 6 isn’t just about hard work, so every Friday we ask your child to bring in a Fun Fact to share with the class. We then select 8 children to visit the other classes, the school office and Mrs. Howes’ office to share their fact with.
Communication between school and home is really important to us, so If you need to speak to the Year 6 team, please send us a message on Class Dojo and we will get back to you. Alternatively, you can talk to us at the end of the day.
